Why They Need To Pull The Plug on Love and Hip Hop ATL

I'm about two episodes into Love and Hip Hop ATL and I'm not feeling it one bit. As a brother who lives in ATL I know first hand that this city is full of talented individuals who stay on their hustle. On any given day you can find brothers and sisters attempting to peddle their projects to anyone willing to give them a listen. So believe me there's no shortage of raw talent in this city which makes me wonder how do these casting people pick and choose who's going to be on these damn reality shows but I digress.

The meat and potatoes of this blog entry is I think the show is fake, plain and simple. I watched the first episode and recall thinking this mess is bogus -- reminded me of those low budget movies BET always plays.  Why couldn't it be more like Love and Hip Hop in NY which was more authentic. The drama, the beefs, the good times, etc., all seemed like the real deal, even Momma Jones's antics seemed like they came from a real place.

The first red flag - this character Stevie J. I refer to him as a character because that's exactly how he comes across -- like a TV character that someone whipped up. I mean I can't get over how this guy acts. He reminds me of the type of guy that try too hard at being smooth and no one else thinks he's smooth, but himself. I understand he's a talented well known super producer blah blah blah, but all that says nothing for his acting ability. He may be a talented producer but acting isn't his forte. I mean like is this garbage supposed to be a reality show or amateur night at the acting academy?

The second red flag - was this manly looking Rhianna look-alike named Joseline Hernandez. I assume she's latina but when she opens her mouth it sounds like a country bama with a bad spanish accent. I can only explain it as the most confusing yet annoying accent I've heard thus far. It's obvious that her 'role' on the show is the villain but she's more like a broke man's Omarosa. *A really broke man's version.

Every reality show needs a recipe for success. You need fun and excitement, drama, sprinkled with lovable people the viewers like and identify with, then add a dash of the bad guy (or gal) everyone loves to hate. Mix that all together, and bake -- voila! You have a good reality show.

I don't know what recipe VH1 decided to use for this show but it's a hot mess. It's so bad I think the producers even recognized how bad it turned out and looked to scripting to salvage this trash. If anyone from the show approaches me and tells me the show is real and unscripted I'm going to reference them to episode two, Mimi and Stevie J's sit down where she produces a contract asking for 20% of his business. The face he made was obviously supposed to be one of intense anger but it was poorly executed:

Every questionable part of the show for some reason seems to revolve around Stevie J. Mimi suspecting him of cheating and catches him with Joseline then basically does nothing but make idle threats set off my third and final major red flag. In the real world that situation would result in someone catching a beat down, nothing less then getting a two piece and I'm not talking about a chicken dinner either. Speaking of that particular scene, I felt it took the show to an all time low because I couldn't help but think, it made me feel like I was watching Cheaters (another fake show by the way).

The only good part about the show (aside from the credits signaling the end) is Lil Scrappy, his child's mother, the delicious Karlie Redd and Rasheedah; even though her spazzin' out on her husband was a little suspect to me. I guess we'll have to wait and see how much more of this crap the public will tolerate, and how long will VH1 and the cast deny the show is heavily scripted.

Did I mention Karlie Redd is delicious?

Have You Met Bakko Yet?

Meet Bakko, a young, beautiful, talented songstress who I have a feeling is about to blow up real soon! She sings, raps, plays the guitar -- I wouldn't be surprised if she could dance too. I stumbled on this hidden gem last year when I was trying to figure out what was so great about Kreayshawn but that's another story. I came across this video that raised my eyebrows (in a good way):

I recently came across the video again but this time I left a comment asking if she had more videos, thinking I would see more videos of her freestylin' but to my surprise (a pleasant one at that) someone pointed me to her youtube page (shout out to ell walks) and I saw videos of her singing. The minute she opens her mouth and the first few notes come out...you can't help but to notice her tone, and style are similar to Amy Winehouse, but I wasn't under the impression that she was biting Amy's style. To be sure, I fired up Amy Winehouse's "Love is a losing game" and compared it to Bakko's cover of the song, and they are vastly different styles. I picked a few videos from Bakko's page to share with you all hopefully you enjoy them as much as I did. Take a listen and send some love her way:

SMASH or TRASH

So many people hit me off with their projects I thought it would only be fair to share their material and have it critiqued by my readers. My only warning is there may or may not be some extremely wack stuff here, but on the other hand you might come across the next big thing, so be patient and fair. After you check things out, let me know what you think. Leave a comment below, or send me a tweet letting me know if the project is a smash or if it's trash. Then go let the artist know and tell them Big Jye sent ya! The whole point is to give the artists some feedback on their work. Let's go!

3 Reasons I Agree With 50 Cent On "Last Train To Paris" Being Wack

50 Cent went on record as saying Diddy Dirty Money's "Last Train To Paris" was wack in a  Power 92 interview. Now most people will hear that and attribute it to 50 going back to his bully antics, but I say he's on to something. The album had the potential to be something big, but there were a few things I felt held it back from being the album of the year. Here are my 3 three reasons why I agree with 50 to a certain extent.
I say to a certain extent because I did like the songs, music, production and performances, but there were things that stuck out like a sore thumb to me that prevented me from completely giving the project a thumbs up, and here they are:

  1. Same ol' "Diddy Bop"- There was no visual difference between how Diddy usually looks does and  the "Last Train To Paris" project. Even Beyonce changes things up when she unleashes Sasha Fierce. You'd think a project that used various elements from other genres of music like Eurodance and Techno House would inspire a new look for the entertainer. Had it been up to me everything would have been more upscale -- Diddy would perform only in suits and the ladies in something classy yet edgy and very sexy.

  2.  Ghostwriters too obvious- This is what killed it for me. I may not know every ghostwriter he used, but the one that's as obvious as a bad weave job is Rick Ross.  Diddy had no shame sounding just like Ross right down to the signature grunt. What I found even odd was they were both on a track together and Diddy spittin' a verse that Ross obviously wrote. I was left thinking why not use a different ghostwriter on that track or just give the whole thing to Ross?

  3. Same ol' "Diddy Bop" part deux: Diddy should have committed to autotuning --ahem-- singing and let his ghostwriters make appearances and spitting what they wrote for him. This would have truly given his fans something different and new from him.

WTF Files: Girl Drinks Gasoline!!!!

I've heard of all kinds of addictions, but this one left me speechless. A girl is addicted to drinking gasoline -- yes you read correctly. She drinks the carcinogenic fluid we run our vehicles, lawn mowers and generators on -- GAS! Every gas station in the U.S. has stickers posted up that warn against even inhaling fumes while pumping gas, so one can only imagine what the dangers are for someone who drinks gasoline. Look at this mess:

Bad Ass Kids Make Elderly Woman Cry

Remember the good ol days? When children were children and stayed in their lane. When there was no such thing as talking back to your parents, and when children respected their elders. When calling an adult by their first name would have you swallowing a mouthful of your own teeth. Remember seeing the most vile foul mouth individuals clean their act up around the elderly? I remember even grown drunkards seemingly sober up quick around a little old lady or little old man whether they knew them or not. How about when a young man would help an elderly person carry their groceries or cross the road?

Well.....those days are long gone and you can thank the government for that! When they stepped into the homes and schools and took away authority from parents and teachers they ended up turning that authority over to the child and created the makings for a society of little monsters who grow up to become big nightmares. So thank you to the government and law makers in America, here is the fruit of your labor, hope you're happy:

Love & Hip Hop's Rhianna Look Alike, Male or Female?

I watched the new season of Love & Hip Hop (ATL) and the first thing I noticed were the celebrity look alikes on the show. I saw an older looking Alicia Keys, a Kelly Roland, and yes the manly Rhianna look alike. Her name is Joseline Hernandez and she's probably the show's biggest personality of all the women second to Lil' Scrappy's mom.

Joseline brought immediate attention to herself of course looking like she could be Rhianna's big sister (or brother) and talking about how perfect she was in the looks department, not to mention she was knowingly messing with an involved man. The internet went berserk talking about her being a he/she and of course it got back to Joseline, so in an attempt to show and prove that she (or he) is 100% woman she (or he) took a full body nude pic of her (or him...lol) self. The question is does that really put an end to the talk?

In my opinion.... HELL NAH! Any tranny can post pics posing as females (those BORN female). Ms. (or Mr.) Joseline if you really feel the need to silence the naysayers, you need more actual proof, i.e., baby and childhood pictures, medical evidence, etc. Click the image below to check out Joseline's nude picture (18+ years old only):

These tips are very basic but for some reason we tend to overlook them daily. So take the next 2 minutes to check these tips out and make sure you apply them to your life.
