Power Of Kind Words

A lot has been said about the power of kind words, the Good Book says, "A soothing tongue is a tree of life, but perversion in it crushes the spirit" meaning you can speak life or death & destruction with just a few words.

The video below is an example of just how far a few kind fews can go in a person's life. Watch the video and this week make it a goal to speak life into someone's life:

Learn From Your Haters

If you're doing something you're bound to have haters especially if you're doing it right. Having haters isn't necessarily a bad thing. Some people are haters simply because of jealousy, and some simply don't like the way you're doing things. This week's message presented by Dr. Eric Thomas comes in two parts. First, analyzing your haters' words -- do they have valid points of are they just jealous? Second,  turn off your own negative thoughts. Want to know how haters thoughts can help you or how your negative thoughts can hinder you? You'll have to check out this week's video:

Slay Your Biggest Giant

"A nation can survive its fools, and even the ambitious. But it cannot survive treason from within. An enemy at the gates is less formidable, for he is known and carries his banner openly." -Marcus Tullius Cicero

If a thriving nation is the result of its citizens working on one accord for the betterment of the nation, then a successful person is the result of a healthy mindset produced by positive thoughts. Positive thoughts act as the mind's "citizens" producing and reinforcing a healthy mindset. The healthy mindset is how you view yourself based on your own set of values, accomplishments and experiences. The goal simply put is continual self growth. When our minds are optimized to have a positive self image it's almost impossible for an outside force to alter what the mind has established, however; it's the unseen enemy that lurks inside each one of us that can tear down in a matter of minutes what it may have taken years to develop.

Start Over!

One of the hardest things to do in life is to start over especially when you have time invested in something or someone. One reason is because part of the process of starting over is letting go. That's why we tend to steer clear of starting over; we'd rather spend time, resources and even our own well-being to fix what's well beyond repair. Failed relationships, dead end jobs, outdated dreams, etc., all need to be released and replaced with new beneficial relationships, careers, aspirations, etc., in their place. Unfortunately many will never step out on faith and start anew, instead they'll cleave unto that which is comfortable and as a result never achieve their goals.

What's Your Routine?

This week I want you to challenge yourself. The challenge is simple, think about a goal you want to complete and create a routine to help you reach that goal. The hardest part of this challenge is sticking to your routine no matter the goal. Suppose you desire to write a book. Your routine might be as simple as dedicating a few hours everyday to write no less than 2 pages for the book. Sticking to a routine like that for a month and you'll have 60 +/- pages done. Suppose your goal is to be able to do 100 push ups.  You may want to develop a routine where you do 20 push ups everyday, whether 10 in the morning and 10 at night or you just hammer out 20 at once doesn't matter as much as you sticking to your plan until you can successfully bang out 100.  The routine is merely an aid to further develop your will power.
Whatever you plan to do, stick to it and make it your daily routine. Are you ready for the challenge? Let's go!

Developing Mental Strength

How do we cope with the death of loved ones or a negative self image? Getting over these things require a mental fortitude that is often hindered by negative thoughts & beliefs we possess about ourselves. This week's message comes from a TED Talk given by Amy Morin, a licensed clinical social worker and psychotherapist. In the video below she shares how she was able to overcome tragic events in her life including the death of her husband by developing mental strength. How'd she do it? You'll have to watch the video to find out.

Be The Blessing

Life's trials can weigh heavily on us when they come and for some they can be seemingly impossible to overcome, but when we learn to meet our problems head on, we receive a special blessing that is released upon overcoming our problem.

Getting Over The Pain

Life is full of ups and downs and you'll get your share of bumps and bruises traversing its peaks and valleys, but how you deal with the pain life brings you is what will separate you from others.  This week's message deals with how to cope with the ups and downs of life. In a message given by Les Brown you'll hear some of his trials and tribulations and how he was able to overcome them by renewing his mind -- the way he viewed himself, life and his circumstances.

As you take some time to view this powerful message, think of everything in your life that's caused you pain and devise a plan to deal with those things systematically; then, implement your plan. Enjoy your week and share this blog with a friend:

Average Is NOT For Successful People

I was watching a video where the speaker mentioned how she and her brother once laughed at someone because they spoke with a funny accent. Her father taught them a valuable lesson. He told them, "you should never laugh at someone because they speak with a funny accent. An accent means that person speaks another language fluently -- and that already makes them smarter than you."

What that father taught his children that day was to never look down on anyone simply because they do something different, but he also taught his kids to not settle for being just average, in this case speaking only one language. That brings us to this week's message featuring Dr. Eric Thomas who in the video below shares how you must not settle for being average especially if you want an above average life. Watch the video below, enjoy your week and live an above average life:

Changing Fear Into Fuel

It's been said that fear is paralyzing meaning if it is allowed to govern over people's lives it prevents them from doing things -- whether applying for jobs, starting your own business, ending a toxic relationship, etc., fear uncontrolled will hinder any hopes and dreams you may have and suck the life out of any goals you may have.

In today's message Ms. Lisa Nichols gives an earth shaking lecture on how to transform fear into the fuel needed to change lives for the better. Do yourself a favor and watch this video and be sure to share with a friend. Have a great week!

Stepping Into Your Purpose

What separates those who are living their dreams from those who aren't is simply the amount of action they put towards obtaining their goals according to this week's motivational message presenter, Ms. Lisa Nichols. Ms. Nichols clearly states that she is a life transformational coach as opposed to a motivational speaker, so be prepared to have your life transformed by this powerful woman. In the video below Ms. Nichols teaches you how to have a life of abundance by stepping into your purpose. Enjoy your week and be sure to share this blog with a friend:

Closer Than Ever Before

Did you know when a grain of sand gets stuck in the body of an oyster is causes discomfort making the oyster cover the sand with the same substance that makes up the lining of its shell? Over a period of time what once caused discomfort is transformed into a precious pearl. All throughout nature there are examples of beauty emerging from discomfort and pain so it's almost a no-brainer that we should expect the same in our lives. Trials and tribulations in our life tend to bring out the best in us once we purpose it in our hearts and minds that enough is enough and we will do whatever it takes to overcome obstacles to reach success. This week's message explains why we should embrace pain if we desire to be successful.

Iron Sharpens Iron

The phrase iron sharpens iron is taken from the Bible. The full quote is found in the book of Proverbs 27:17 and it states, "as iron sharpens iron, so one man sharpens another."(ESV) When most people hear that phrase they immediately think about two  allies strengthening each other, but today's message given by Dr. Eric Thomas shows how it's not just our allies who can cause us to grow stronger.

Focusing On Your Behavior, Not Your Goals

There are many philosophies in the world today related to achieving goals, many of which teach focusing on goals as the best method for reaching them.
Today's message is a break from the norm. Today you will hear a way to reach your goals that challenges what you may have learned in the past.
