Think Tank Tuesday 8/13/13: Legal Issues & Low Grades Prevent Heart Transplant

A 15 year old boy had been denied a much needed heart transplant because he's had a history of noncompliance. Check out the video below:


The Think Tank question for today is did the hospital make the right call? Even if this young man has been in trouble with the law, and may not have been a model student, should he been denied a second chance at life? What if this was how hospitals determined who they treated and who they didn't? For example, what if hospitals turned people away who needed care that were involved in car accidents because they had a history of DUI? Definitely a good discussion piece.
