Think Tank Tuesday 9/8: Religious Rights Being Stripped Away?

Social media has gone into a frenzy over Kim Davis the now infamous clerk who refused to issue marriage licenses to same sex couples because of her faith. Some are in support of her actions and others are of course against them. Of the ones who don't support her actions, the consensus is that she didn't do the job she was sworn to do as an elected official.

In a similar situation (with a slightly different twist) a flight attendant who converted to Islam learned it was against the religion to serve or consume alcohol and she was suspended for not serving alcohol to passengers because she found out it was against her faith. Initially the airline she worked for allowed her to work out arrangements with other flight attendants so she didn't have to serve alcohol, but when a co-worker complained, that's when she was suspended. Are we seeing the beginning of the erosion of religious rights in this country? Check out the video:

What are your thoughts? Should people simply look for a new job if an aspect of their job goes against their faith? What about new converts? Is it really as cut and dry as if there's something your faith won't allow you to do look elsewhere for a job? If the flight attendant was a recovering alcoholic would there still be a problem?
